David Ji is a widely recognized musician who performs on prestigious stages around the world. He made his concerto debut with the Prime Philharmonic Orchestra performing Beethoven’s Emperor concerto, and has appeared in renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center in New York; the Goldensaal in Berlin; Martinu Hall in the Czech Republic; and the Seoul Arts Center in Korea. He is a winner of the Korean National Symphony Orchestra Competition and the Arthur Balsam Duo Competition in New York. Dr. Ji has collaborated with renowned soloists such as Sarah Shafer, Pettri Iinoven, Xiao Wang, and members of the esteemed orchestras such as Chicago, Metropolitan Opera, New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia, and the Vienna Philharmonic. He has worked with acclaimed musicians such as Margo Garrett, Augustin Hadelich, Hilary Hahn, Warren Jones, Robert McDonald, Sylvia Rosenberg, David Shifrin, Dolora Zajick, Pinchas Zukerman, and the members of Emerson and Brentano String Quartets. Mr.Ji has been invited to prestigious festivals, including the Gijon International Piano Festival, Orford Music Festival, Mozarteum Summer Academy, Prague Spring International Festival and Competition, and Arizona State University as a guest lecturer. He has also served as a collaborative pianist and program coordinator at the Yale School of Music, a pianist and coach at the Manhattan School of Music, and a coach fellow at the Institute for Young Dramatic Voices in Reno. Dr. Ji holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Manhattan School of Music and currently serves on the faculty of Bard Conservatory’s Preparatory Division, the Heifetz International Music Institute, and the Manhattan School of Music’s summer program. He is also a pianist and coach at the Juilliard School and New York University. Mr. Ji enjoys cooking, camping, tennis, and going to the sea in his free time.
